Prenatal Ayurveda: Gentle Traditional Support During Pregnancy — Aara Holistic Wellness Clinic, Scarborough

Prenatal Ayurveda offers gentle, traditional support for comfort during pregnancy — warmth, rest, nourishing food and, where appropriate, very gentle bodywork — always cleared first with your midwife or physician.

A gentle, cautious approach

Pregnancy is a time for extra care, so Ayurvedic support focuses on the gentle end: warmth, rest, calming routines and nourishing food. Some treatments are not appropriate during pregnancy, which is why a provider's clearance comes first.

Where it can help

Comfort, stress and sleep. For clinical, insurance-eligible bodywork, our Registered Massage Therapy offers prenatal massage by trained therapists.

Always clear it first

Tell us how far along you are, and confirm with your midwife or physician before any new therapy — essential in a high-risk pregnancy. Ayurveda is a wellness service, not insurance-eligible.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ayurveda safe during pregnancy?

Only the gentle end — warmth, rest, nourishing food and calm routines — and only with your provider's clearance. Some Ayurvedic treatments are not appropriate during pregnancy.

Can I get a prenatal massage?

Yes — prenatal massage by a Registered Massage Therapist is generally safe when cleared by your provider, and it's insurance-eligible.

Should I check with my doctor first?

Always. Confirm any new therapy with your midwife or physician, especially in a high-risk pregnancy.
